The topic of suicide has been prominent throughout human history and the number of people committing it has increased over the years. Suicide can be driven by what is called suicidal ideation which, according to theories, is caused by diverse and complex reasons. With this in mind, I want to bring up suicidal ideation as a topic for my creative work in the form of a novella. To ground this topic more for this creative thesis, I am using the Three Step Theory of Suicide (2015) by E. David Klonsky and Alexis M. May to explore the cause and inhibitor of suicidal ideation, along with Re-Vitalizing Worthiness in Overcoming Suicidality Theory (2011) by Evelyn Gordon, John R. Cutcliff, and Chris Stevenson to explore the recovery of suicidal ideation. This creative work in the genre of psychological thriller will explore the main character’s cause of suicidal ideation which is from her pain as a childhood breadwinner and her guilt as an assassin. She inhibited her attempt out of the connection she had with her family. In the end, she chose to overcome her ideation by surviving a crisis, getting to the point of no return, and accepting help from her family to earn her life.
