In this creative thesis, I explore the topic of limerence as a form of obsession through a creative work in the form of a novella. Through this creative thesis and creative work, aims to bring awareness towards the topic of obsession. Two theories will be used to analyze and to understand further about the topic, which are Obsessive Relational Intrusion (ORI) as the main theory and Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) as the supporting theory. In the novella, two main characters’ point-of-views will be used to show both perspectives of the victim and the perpetrator. Elysia Huang as the female protagonist and the victim, while Vincent Russo as the male protagonist and the perpetrator. Vincent’s obsession is shaped by his fear of abandonment, caused by his childhood trauma, from the perspective of ORI theory and Elysia’s entrapment is shaped by Vincent’s manipulation and IPV dynamics. In the end of the creative thesis there will be explanations on how the novella has answered the statement of the problems and how it achieved the purpose of the study, as well as, the conclusion and personal suggestions for those who are thinking about doing similar topics.
