Designing 3D animation for learning basic theory of 12 principle of animation
Animation industry in Indonesia has grown rapidly since 2015 but still cannot compete in the international market. This is due to several factors such as inefficient ecosystem, low human resource (HR) standards, and a lack of supportive media publicity. One way to improve Indonesia’s animation industry capability to compete is to improve the HR’s standards. Using a descriptive qualitative approach and the 5W+1H method, results show a lack of mastery in basic theories. The quality of prospective HR or current resources in the animation industry can be improved if their understanding of basic theories exceeds the average. Therefore, this design is made to help improve the understanding of basic animation theories, specifically the 12 basic principles of animation. This is one effort to ensure that animation HR is better prepared to enter the industry. The output product helps prospective animators to learn basic theories and serve as reminders for those who are already familiar with them.
