Discovering the chain between female executives and ESG performance with corporate resilience during and after COVID-19 pandemic: Indonesia’s IDX80
Undergraduate Thesis Exploring The Chain Between Female Executives and ESG Performance with Corporate Resilience During and After COVID-19 Pandemic: Indonesia’s IDX80. This study investigates the influence of female executive and ESG performance on corporate resilience, using firm value and EVA, in the context of mid- and post-COVID-19 pandemic. It also examines significant differences in these variables across COVID-19 periods. Employing panel data analysis, the study examines 15 IDX IDX80 companies from 2019-2024, resulting in 90 firm-year observations. Data were sourced from Refinitiv and Annual Reports. The study reveals that ESG performance have positive significant impact toward EVA but insignificant toward firm value. Female executives positively influence EVA but has no significant effect on firm value. There is significant change of firm value and ESG performance during and after the COVID-19, but there is no change of EVA and female executive. The insignificant in the change of EVA may be due to the limited observable year of 90 firm-year and a much larger pool of data may produce a different result. The finding suggests that female executive may influence the company survivability based on the positive influence of female executive toward EVA. ESG performance is starting to be seen as something important by IDX80 companies which can be seen from the significant result of ESG performance during and after the pandemic. This study provides insights into how female leadership and ESG performance contribute to corporate resilience during crises in Indonesian companies.
