Strategic purchasing plan for Kraft Heinz company's contract manufacturing of cheese category

There is no doubt that in this globalization era, many companies are taking the chance to find the best suppliers worlwide that could optimize its benefits. Kraft Heinz Company, which is the fifth largest food company worldwide, also concerns on that. Cheese and dairy products at the company is categorized as the top two sales and its contract manufacturing spend reached $110M in 2017. Therefore, this research aims to set the strategy on its cheese contract
manufacturing activities to optimize the benefits, both from the financial and non-financial sides. It focused more on the qualitative research, with the use of quantitative data to support. The findings shows that the company needs to source from top 15 countries in producing cheese, with the consideration on the cheese variants and types, freight cost, duty rates, essential requirements of supplier, and the degree of supplier's potentiality to be the direct competitor.
