The Main male character's change in Hawthorne's the Marble Faun

The Marble Faun is a novel by Nathaniel Hawthorne which talks about the main male character's consciousness of his sin which changes his character traits. The thesis writer is encouraged to find out what factors makes him change and what kind of change he has gone through. The thesis writer wants to prove that his change happens after his eyes are opened due to the conflict that he faces in his life. Besides, the writer wants to prove that his conflict is caused by his sin, his killing of Miriam's persecutor. The thesis writer uses literary approach with the theory of characterization and conflict as the devices. Using these theories, the thesis writer analyzes Donatello's character traits which are like an animal and later change after Miriam opens his eyes when he has done a sin. He is haunted by his sin and his guilty feeling. He changes into a complete human having moral and responsibility for his deed. The thesis writer concludes that Donatello's experience of sin later on makes him become a complete human being.
