The phenomenon of people who must financially support both their parents and their children has become increasingly common, particularly in urban Indonesia, where living costs are high and job loss is increasingly frequent. This thesis aims to portray how continuous pressure from family members and financial hardship can push a woman into a serious psychological breakdown, and to show how her efforts to manage these pressures gradually become ineffective. It draws on Leonard I. Pearlin's Stress Process Model to construct the screenplay's characters characters, plot, and conflict by tracing the progression of psychological strain from persistent stressors through the characters' coping efforts and social support, ultimately revealing the consequences when these resources fail. The result shows that the protagonist's struggle is caused by constant demands from her husband, mother, and mother-in-law amid financial difficulties, combined with inadequate support. As her resources to manage the situation become limited, she gradually withdraws from both her problems and the people around her, leading her into depression. This thesis contributes to fictional representations of Indonesia's sandwich generation by portraying financial hardship as the primary source of psychological strain in an urban Indonesian context.
