Analysis of the effectivity of Among Us UI/UX design

This research investigates the effectiveness of the user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) design of the popular online multiplayer game "Among Us." With the rapid growth of the gaming industry and the increasing importance of UI/UX design in shaping player engagement, there is a need to critically analyze and evaluate the UI/UX elements of games like "Among Us." This study explores how various UI/UX design elements, including menu navigation, visual feedback, and interactive features, impact player engagement, immersion, and overall gaming experience. Important theories such as Charles Peirce's semiotics, Hick's Law, Von Restorff Effect, and Principle of Least Effort are evident in the game, enhancing user satisfaction and supporting core mechanics. Additionally, the Principle of Perpetual Habit fosters familiarity and ease of interaction. The research identifies strengths, such as intuitive task icons and clear navigation cues, and weaknesses, including chat spamming and delayed updates, in the UI/UX design of "Among Us."
