Kompresi citra digital berbasis wavelet: tinjauan PSNR dan laju BIT

Digital image compression has been implemented using wavelet Daubechies and
evaluated based on both bit rates and PSNR (peak signal to noise ratio) parameters. Three wavelet
Daubechies db2, db3 and db4 were compared to compress test images: Lenna image, Daubechies
image dan Fingerprint image. The empiric result showed that wavelets were capable of
compressing digital image at least 2/5 times raw images. Wavelet db4 whose the highest degree of
smoothness, proved that it could be a most powerful compression algorithm and gave a lower bit
rate than the others. PSNR parameter showed that wavelet db4 is the winner except for
compressing Daubechies image.
