Pembuatan mesin kasir dengan video capture [permalink]

Dewasa ini penggunaan mesin kasir merupakan hal yang umum di
berbagai kawasan pertokoan modern karena berbagai manfaat yang dihasilkannya.
Namun, meskipun telah menggunakan mesin kasir, kesalahan-kesalahan pada
hasil perhitungan masih sering terjadi. Kesalahan-kesalahan tersebut dapat terjadi
karena kecurangan yang dilakukan oleh pelanggan, maupun karyawan toko itu
sendiri. Untuk mengatasi kesalahan tersebut di atas, maka diperlukan sebuah
sistem pengamanan yang dapat memantau aktivitas pada toko. Pemasangan
kamera tersebut memberi manfaat, karena gambar yang ditangkap dapat disimpan
dalam media penyimpanan digital (misalnya harddisk) dan dapat dijadikan barang
bukti atas pelanggaran hukum.
Pada tugas akhir ini dicoba diintegrasikan mesin kasir dengan sistem
pengaman dengan web camera yang difokuskan pada meja kasir (yang
diimplementasikan dengan komputer). Penggunaan komputer dipilih karena, yang
pertama, telah menjadi platform yang umum untuk mesin kasir, dan yang kedua,
sistem multitasking pada komputer cocok untuk aplikasi yang melakukan proses
transaksi penjualan dan perekaman gambar sekaligus.
Akhirnya, berhasil dibuat aplikasi client-server, multi user, dimana
administrasi dan setting dilakukan pada server, dan proses transaksi sekaligus
perekaman video dilakukan pada client. Data transaksi dikirim secara realtime,
namun data video dipindahkan secara berkala dari client ke server. Dari pengujian
diperoleh proses sistem mesin kasir, perekaman dan playback data video sudah
baik. Sedangkan proses pemindahan masih perlu perbaikan.

Alternative Description
The use of cashier machine nowadays has became such a popular thing

which easily be found in many modern shop areas because of the beneficial result

of them. Unfortunately, by looking up carefully, one of the problems is that

although they had tried to implement a cashier machine, there still was occurred

many unpredicted errors and inaccuracy in the calculation. Those errors might be

caused by deceitfulness of the customers or even the shop?s employees itself. In

order to avoid the problems described above, it should be needed a security

system that able to monitor all of the activities happened in the shop. The

application of the cameras has been proven useful since the video images

captured by the camera can be stored in a digital media (such as hard disk) and

surely it can be used as a proof of any crime that may happen.

In this final project, it was tried to develop an integrated cashier machine

with a built in security system using the web camera to secure transactions which

happened around the cashier desk which was implemented using a personal

computer. The use of personal computer was chosen since, the first, it has became

a widely used platform for cashier machines, and the second is that the

multitasking system in computer is suitable for an application that needs to

perform a sale transaction progress while recording the video images altogether.

Finally, it has been done a client-server, multi user application, which the

administration and setting activity is performed at server, while transaction and

video capture activity is performed at client. The transaction data is sent to server

in real time manner, but the video data is transferred periodically from client to

server. From the testing result, it has been shown that the cashier machine

process, recording and playing back process was good. However, the transfer

process still needs refinement.
